Dr Dawn joins Rangeford as health and wellbeing ambassador
The appointment of Dr Dawn comes hot on the heels of the news that design guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen was appointed as the company’s design curator.
An award-winning leader in luxury retirement living for the 60-plus community, has announced a new collaboration with celebrity GP, Dr Dawn Harper as ‘Health & Wellbeing Ambassador'.
Rangeford Villages is committed to pioneering the way in revolutionising how people thrive beyond sixty. The appointment of Dr Dawn comes hot on the heels of the news that design guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen was appointed as the company's design curator.
Dr Dawn will be hosting events in both Siddington Park and Homewood Grove initially, to engage with owners living in these villages. She will be discussing the key to healthy longevity and supporting the Rangeford Wellbeing Managers to educate and promote an optimal lifestyle, considering all aspects of health for people 60-plu, including physical, mental and social. Dr Dawn will also meet with some individuals in their own apartments to learn about their lives before retirement and the impact on them of living in later years.
For her bestselling book ‘Live Well to 101', Dawn travelled around the world's blue zones interviewing centenarians about how they have remained healthy to 100 years and beyond. She is a leading authority on how to live in later life healthily, and as a practicing NHS GP is passionate about prevention over cure through lifestyle.
Commenting on her many experiences here in the UK and around the globe with people enjoying super healthy longevity in later life, and the common threads amongst them, she says: ‘People who were born before cars became popular, before ultra-processed and fast food, and when families thrived together in a close supportive community, had a far healthier lifestyle. They used to walk to get around, they cooked fresh seasonal food and regularly engaged at mealtimes with family and friends all around one table. They were social and connected.
“Rangeford excels in my opinion at ensuring these back-to-basics values are prevalent throughout all they offer people living in their villages. They offer delicious healthy nutrition in their restaurants; extensive wellbeing facilities and programmes and plenty of social engagement in the local communities. I am delighted to be an Ambassador for Rangeford and am looking forward to championing some exciting new health and wellbeing initiatives to further enhance their already exceptional standards.'
This exciting new partnership with Dr Dawn servers to further raise the bar in the retirement living sector, underpinning Rangeford's resolute commitment to investing in excellence and revolutionising retirement.
