Bidfood's Anna Turner appointed as a director and interim vice-chair of the FPA

Turner, who has worked as national account manager at Bidfood for 11 years, took on the additional roles at FPA earlier this year

Anna Turner has been appointed as a director and Interim vice chair at the Foodservice Packaging Association (FPA), a role that she will undertake alongside her position as national account manager within Bidfood’s Catering Supplies team.

Turner, who has worked at Bidfood for 11 years and been a vital member of the FPA for over ten years, took on the additional roles earlier this year, highlighting her knowledge and expertise within packaging, so that she can further support customers, as well as reinforcing Bidfood’s strong position and offering within non-food.

Commenting on her new role, Turner says: “I am extremely proud of this acknowledgement and what it means for Bidfood. I’m always working to make sure that Bidfood remains relevant within the FPA, building our profile, reputation and credibility with customers.

“It will be a challenge, but it’s a task I'm more than willing to take on, as this, along with the packaging degree I’m starting next year, will provide me with the tools I need to put some of the strategic plans in place at Bidfood and the FPA.  We want Bidfood to be the point of reference for packaging-associated schemes and legislation such as the single-use plastic ban and the potential, upcoming DRS.

“We are also keen to introduce more of Bidfood’s specialist categories into the FPA and we’re already making great headway with our beers, wines and spirits brand, Unity, which is kindly providing the wine and champagne at the 2024 FPA Awards. This year is already shaping up to be an exciting one and I can’t wait to reveal what’s on the horizon.”

With over 30 years of experience in the foodservice industry, Turner started her career as a trainee customer assistant at Pal International before moving into a sales manager position. Now at Bidfood, Turner has spent over a decade supporting customers in the travel, leisure and pub sectors.

During that time, she has also worked closely with the FPA and played a key role in Bidfood’s move to join the trade association, not only solidifying the company’s position in the world of non-food but building awareness among customers. As an active member of FPA’s board, Turner has dedicated her time and energy to supporting the creation of a clear strategy, reviewing the work of other teams and much more. In her new roles, she’ll be involved in membership engagement to ensure that members’ needs are met, looking into businesses to join, as well as handling claims, such as instances of greenwashing that is reported to the FPA.
