NACC CARE CHEF 2023 FINALIST ANNOUNCED

Twelve finalists have been announced to go head-to-head for the NACC’S Care Chef of the Year award

Following the NACC'S regional heats in June, twelve finalists have been announced to go head-to-head for the title of Care Chef of the Year.

Across the Midlands, South East, Scotland, North, South West and Wales, care chefs took part in regional heats to represent their region.

Judged by Steve Munkley, vice president of Craft Guild of Chefs, the twelve finalists were decided based on understanding of meals and add their own flair to the dishes.

Each 90 minute regional heat focused on nutrition, positive experiences for residents' mealtimes to keep the cost at £3.50 per head. The challenge was to also include a Unilever product.

The final competition will be held 3 October and is sponsored by Unilever and The Worshipful Company of Cooks.

“Congratulations to the finalists of the NACC Care Chef of the Year competition 2023!" says Sue Cawthray, national chair of the NACC. "The calibre of entries for this competition continues to be incredibly high, and we have seen exceptional dishes created and served by chefs across the regional heats. The finalists should be immensely proud of their efforts so far. I know that they will want to impress the judges in October.
